BIOGRAPHY

Mat Humphrey learned his filmmaking skills making corporate videos, which was a critical point in his career because he learned to clearly define the intentions of communication. He quickly gained recognition in the market place as an emerging talent and relished the opportunity to both write scripts and direct performances. Mat was then picked up by on of Australia’s most prestigious commercial production houses and immediately stated winning awards for direction.

Over the last decade, Humphrey has won countless international awards, including New York “One Show”, Cannes Lions, London International “Best Director” as well as the prestigious “Best Director” two years in a row, and the Clio’s Awards.

His body of work is as diverse as his awards. Mat’s work is driven by his passion for storytelling, whether it’s humor, dialogue, people being people or intensely emotional drama. His body of work includes lifestyle, Kids, Pets/Dogs, and Auto. His PSA’s on Drunk Driving, Reckless Driving and Anti-Smoking are intense, real drama pieces. Most of them garner a deeply emotional response from the viewers.
