BIOGRAPHY

Monty Miranda is an experienced, talented director who has been sharpening his skills behind the camera since he first picked up his family’s 8mm home movie camera at the age of eight. After graduating from the University of Colorado, he started his own production company, Incite Films, and began building a large, critically recognized body of work that includes the nationally broadcast television show TWITCH. In addition to directing hundreds of commercials demonstrating exceptional range and style for a diverse clientele (including McDonalds and TiVO), he recently completed his first feature film, SKILLS LIKE THIS, which received numerous awards from respected film festivals, including the AUDIENCE AWARD at SXSW and BEST OF FEST honors at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The movie was recently picked up by Shadow Distribution and opens in NY at the Angelika on March 20, 2009. The platform release expands throughout North American cities and internationally thereafter.

Miranda’s commercial work, known particularly for their comic flair, has been featured on BBC’s Most Outrageous Commercials as well as FOX’s World’s Funniest Commercials. He’s also collected a number of awards from such prestigious groups as the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, the CLIO’S, the EFFIES (BDA AWARD), and the ADDY’S. His political spots were praised by CNN, the LA Times, and the Washington Post for their innovative approach and contributed to landslide upset victories. He has also directed a number of BRANDED CONTENT and online spots, including Duracell’s web campaign, “The Museum of the Obvious,” and a web series, “The Retro Minute”, for Get Back Media’s getback.com.
